Often referred to as ‘leaving a legacy, It’s a common myth that you have to be wealthy to leave a gift in your will to help a charity; in fact, nothing could be further from the truth. After taking care of family and friends, you’ll be amazed at what one final gift, no matter how big or small, can do. Taking care of both your loved ones and your favourite charities is easier than you think.

The generous gifts and donations we receive from members of the public enable us to continue supporting victims of domestic abuse.

 

Last year with your help, we:

• We supported 95 families in refuge

• Refuge stay was an average of just over 3 months.

• We answered around 1500 calls on our advice line

• We took approx. 900 calls requesting refuge

• We supported 218 women through our groupwork (completion rate 86%)

• We supported 115 adults via our 12-week Outreach programme

• We supported 142 children: 86 in refuge and 56 via our outreach programme

Any gift that you give is hugely appreciated, and really does help to change lives.

Why do I need a will?

It’s important to write a will to make sure that the people you care about will be provided for when the time comes. If you don’t have a will, your estate (everything you own) will be distributed according to current legislation, and if you have no surviving relatives, the government is entitled to everything.

 

How can I make a will?
We all know the importance of writing a will, which is why NDAS has partnered up with Kwil to give you the opportunity to write your will online for FREE and in as little as 30 minutes. Once your will is complete, you will be able to enter the code NDAS to receive it for free.

There will also be the additional opportunity, should you wish, to leave the NDAS a gift in your will. Anything left to the charity will be exempt from Inheritance Tax and will help the charity plan its services.
